As they prepare for long-distance moves, people often throw out a lot of things, including food. Rather than letting unopened, non-perishable food go to waste, we can collect that food and deliver it to local food banks. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, millions more Americans are relying on food banks for sustenance. The food banks of Middle Tennessee are working hard to feed those in need. Together, we can reduce food waste and hunger in our community‒one truckload at a time. 

Move For Hunger is a national, non-profit organization that has created a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger. They have mobilized 1,000 moving companies across the U.S. to participate. 

Apex Moving + Storage has been dedicated to supporting their efforts since 2011. Here’s how it works:

  • We ask our moving customers to set aside any unopened, non-perishable food items that they'd like to donate. 

  • During the move, we collect their donations and bring them back to our warehouse. 

  • Every month, we pack up all of the donations and deliver them to Nashville-area food banks.
